Another Construction Worker Needlessly Killed Due To Negligence Of Construction Project Management

A construction worker was killed after he was struck in the head by an anchoring bracket that fell from the building’s roof in Chelsea on Monday, December 18.  The 34-year-old man was found unconscious at 61 Ninth Avenue, on the corner of West 15th Street and Ninth Avenue.  He was pronounced dead at Lenox Hill Hospital.

Under New York law, the general contractor at the site, TG Nickel and Associates, is legally responsible to ensure incidents like this do not happen.  The owner of the building, Vornado Realty Trust, is equally responsible for making sure all safety precautions are taken to prevent this type of senseless negligence.  The scaffolding contractor for the development, Lexington Maintenance LLC, could also be held responsible depending on the relationship between the killed worker and the scaffold company.

The attorneys at Morgan Levine Dolan have recovered millions of dollars for injured construction workers.   Our attorneys fight for the rights of injured union workers including damages for lifetime lost earnings, pain and suffering and coverage for all medical expenses.  If  a loved one has been killed or seriously injured in a scaffold construction accident, contact Duane Morgan or Jared Levine of Morgan Levine Dolan today at 212-785-5115.
