Pedestrian Struck in Brooklyn Crosswalk

Ira Kleigman, a 65-year-old caretaker at Chabad of Marine Park, was struck early this morning at Nostrand Avenue and Quentin Road in Brooklyn by a 79-year-old livery cab driver.

A private ambulance took Kleigman, who was in critical condition, to Kings County Hospital, according to officials.

The livery cab driver remained at the scene and was handcuffed and taken into police custody; he was later released with a desk appearance ticket for failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to exercise due care, police said.
