Victim Identified In Greenwich Car Crash

Carlos Coyt-Orozco, of Port Chester, was killed after he was struck by a tractor trailer on the Insterstate 95, officials said.

Coyt-Orozco had pulled over his vehicle to the right shoulder of the highway because he had run out of gas. He and his passenger, David Espinoza, of Portchester, attempted to push the vehicle, officials said.

The driver of the tractor trailer, John Hoffman of Gloucester, N.J., said he struck Coyt-Orozco as he veered into the right shoulder when he hit a curve on the road and was blinded by the sun.

Coyt-Orozco was taken to Westchester County Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

Hoffman remained at the scene. No arrests or charges have been made.

For grieving families, it’s important that a full investigation be conducted. For that, a wise first step is to discuss the matter with a legal professional experienced in car accidents.
