Pedestrian Seriously Hurt In Lower East Side Bus Accident

A pedestrian was seriously injured after being involved in an accident involving an MTA bus in the Lower East Side, officials said. The accident occurred at Canal Street and Allen Street.

 

The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was struck after the MTA bus jumped a curb and struck a gate and bench.

 

The person was transported to New York Downtown Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

 

The bus driver stayed at the scene.
