Multiple Injuries Reported In Multi-Car Crash In Flanders

Two injured people were treated after a three-vehicle crash on Flanders Road, officials said. The accident occurred on Flanders Road near White Brook Drive, officials said.

David Williams, 58, of Flanders was driving his 2014 Nissan Sentra when he collided head-on with a 2013 Toyota Tacoma driven by Christian Ortiz, 32, of Hampton Bays, police said.

Driver Dilan Monroy Suret, 36, of Flanders was in the third vehicle involved in a secondary collision with the Nissan, officials said. Monroy Suret refused medical treatment at the scene. He was later found to be driving while intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with driving while impaired and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Williams was treated at Stony Brook University Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Ortiz was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Another car accident, which resulted in a death, occurred on Flanders Road two weeks ago.
