One Teen Killed, Another Injured In Ozone Park Car Crash

Jazmine Marin, 13, was killed and another girl, whose identity has not been released, was injured after they were struck by a car while walking to school in Ozone Park, Queens, officials said. The accident occurred at Cross Bay Boulevard near 149th Avenue around 7 a.m.

The driver, a 55-year-old man in a green Chevy sedan, was driving southbound along Cross Bay Boulevard when he struck the two girls while they were crossing the street. According to police, the girls had crossed outside of the crosswalk when the light was red.

Both of the girls were taken to Jamaica Medical Center. One of the girls had severe head trauma and died from her injuries. The other girl suffered a severe leg injury, but is listed in stable condition.

The driver remained at the scene. No charges or arrests have been made.

For grieving families, it’s important that a full investigation be conducted. For that, a wise first step is to discuss the matter with a legal professional experienced in car accidents.
