Pedestrian Killed By Hit-And-Run Van In The Bronx

David Pajarito-Mendez, 38, of Brighton Beach, was fatally struck by a hit-and run van in Morrisania, Bronx on Monday evening, officials said. The accident happened near East 162nd Street and Courtlandt Avenue.

 

According to surveillance footage, Pajarito-Mendez wobbled onto the street and laid there for about 45 seconds until a sedan struck him. A few moments later, a second vehicle, an SUV, turned onto the street and struck and dragged him.

 

Pajarito-Mendez was pronounced dead at the scene from severe head and body trauma, police said.

 

No immediate arrests or charges have been made.
