Zachary Dunn, 18, of Yonkers was killed after a hit-and-run accident on the Saw Mill Parkway near the McLean Avenue bridge, officials said.
Officials later arrested Junior Silverio-Ventura, 19, who they have charged with felony for leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident.
Dunn’s car had a flat tire and he stopped near the side of the highway. Moments later, he was rear-ended by an Acura TSX. The Acura’s occupants abandoned the car and got into another Acura TSX where they fled the scene.
He was transported to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
His passenger, whose identity has not been released, was treated at St. Joseph’s Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
For grieving families, it’s important that a full investigation be conducted. For that, a wise first step is to discuss the matter with a legal professional experienced in car accidents.
