The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a formal recall of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 phone after the company volunteered to do so a week earlier.
The Galaxy Note 7 has put consumers at risk over its batteries exploding or catching fire. Samsung has confirmed that there were several dozen such incidents which have led to injuries.
Samsung says it plans to replace the devices. It has sold 2.5 million of its phones.
