Cyclist Critically Injured After Hit-And-Run Crash

A cyclist in his 30s was critically injured after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Midtown, officials said. The victim was riding along Eighth Avenue when a large truck collided into him on West 40th Street.

 

The victim, whose identity was not released, was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition with a badly mangled leg that may need to be amputated, police said. The victim is expected to survive.

 

Police are still looking for the hit-and-run driver, who was believed to be in a commercial truck.
