Aissatou Diallo, 49, was fatally struck by a car after she pulled over on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway to fix a flat tire, officials said.
Another driver had pulled over in front of her car to help her. Diallo was standing in the highway along with several occupants when a BMW crashed into her car, sending the vehicle crashing into her. The impact threw her off the expressway and onto the pavement below.
Diallo was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The BMW’s driver, only identified as a 43-year-old man, was brought to Woodhull Hospital in stable condition. No immediate charges or arrests have been made.
There were eight other occupants from the two cars that were struck. They were being evaluated at Elmhurst Hospital.
