Michael Schenkman, 78, of Flushing, was fatally struck by a car in Bayside, Queens early Wednesday, officials said.
Schenkman was riding his bike along Northern Boulevard near 223rd Street when a black Chevrolet Impala struck him near 223rd Street, officials said.
Schenkman suffered severe head and body trauma and was taken to North Shore Manhasset Hospital. He later died from his injuries, police said.
The Impala’s driver, a 25-year-old man, remained at the scene. Police said he was a volunteer EMT.
No immediate arrests or charges were made.
