Alleged Drunk Driver Injures Another Driver In the Bronx

A woman was critically injured after an alleged drunk driver crashed into her car in Co-op City, Bronx, police said.

Cory Jordan, 35, was driving along Baychester Avenue when he rear-ended a car going in the same direction, officials said.

The driver in the other vehicle, a 31-year-old woman, whose name has not been released, was found unconscious and unresponsive in her car when emergency responders arrived. Her passenger, a 24-year-old male, was found conscious and alert.

Both were taken to Jacobi Hospital where the woman is listed in critical condition and the male passenger was treated for minor head injuries, officials said.

Jordan was charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, drunk driving and criminal possession of marijuana. He was also tested with a blood alcohol limit above the legal limit for driving, officials said. Jordan suffered minor injuries from the accident.
