A 35-year-old man was killed on Tuesday evening by a hit-and-run car, police said. The incident happened on Jerome Avenue near Macombs Road in the Bronx.
The man, whose name has not been released, reportedly fell down on the street after stepping out of a cab and was fatally struck by another car that fled the scene. According to reports, the victim may have been intoxicated.
The victim was taken to Lincoln Medical Center with head and body trauma. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, officials said.
The NYPD are searching for the driver of a white Chevrolet Impala.
