A driver struck two bicyclists, killing one and injuring the other, before slamming into a home in Hicksville, officials said. The accident happened at 83 New South Road.
The bicyclists, a woman and her father, were riding down the road when they were struck by the Ford Explorer. The sports utility vehicle clipped a car and then collided into a brick house.
The woman, only identified as being in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her father, who was in his 70s, was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The 57-year-old female driver and her male passenger were taken to local hospitals with superficial injuries, officials said.
The driver of the car that was clipped was unharmed, police said.
For grieving families, it’s important that a full investigation be conducted. For that, a wise first step is to discuss the matter with a legal professional experienced in car accidents.
