Woman Hospitalized After Car Crash With Elderly Driver

A 50-year-old woman was in grave condition after she was struck by a car in Staten Island, officials said. The woman, whose identity has not been released, was crossing Amboy Road near Richmond Road around 7 a.m. when a Toyota driven by a 72-year-old man collided into her, officials said.

 

The driver was attempting to make a turn onto Amboy Road from Richmond Road when the crash happened, police said.

 

The woman was rushed to Richmond University Medical Center. She was listed in critical condition.

 

The driver stayed at the scene. No immediate charges were made.
