One Person Killed, 12 Injured In Deadly Staten Island Pileup

A 74-year-old man was killed and 12 people were injured in a 10-car pileup on Staten Island on Sunday, officials said.

An elderly female driver may have caused the accident. According to police, the woman had a minor accident when she pulled her Lexus into the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Travis Avenue. However, she drove off and struck multiple vehicles waiting at a red light. The impact caused her car to go airborne, according to reports.

The driver of the Lexus was one of the two people who were listed in critical condition. The 74-year-old male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. At least three people suffered serious injuries, police told NBC New York.

For grieving families, it’s important that a full investigation be conducted. For that, a wise first step is to discuss the matter with a legal professional experienced in car accidents.
