An elderly woman, whose identity has not been released, was struck by a tractor trailer on Beach Channel Drive and Mott Avenue in Far Rockaway on Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
She remained trapped under the vehicle for over 15 minutes, according to reports. Firefighters managed to free and rescue her.
She was rushed to Jamaica Hospital and listed in serious condition. She is expected to survive, officials said.
