Woman Killed In Car Accident In Suffolk County

Brigit Burgio, 23, of Baiting Hollow, died after she struck a parked vehicle and then a tree on Sunday night, officials said.

Burgio was driving a 2004 Kia Optima on Edwards Avenue in Baiting Hollow when she sideswiped a parked 2014 Jeep Wrangler on the west side of the road. She continued to drive her car northbound before crashing into a tree, police said.

When emergency responders from the Riverhead Fire Department arrived on the scene, they had to extricate Burgio from the vehicle, officials said. She was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead from her injuries a few hours later.

For grieving families, it’s important that a full investigation be conducted. For that, a wise first step is to discuss the matter with a legal professional experienced in car accidents.
