Queens Bus Crash Leaves 11 People Hurt

Eleven people were injured in a bus accident involving collision with a car in Fresh Meadows, Queens, on Tuesday morning, officials said.

 

The yellow school bus struck a sedan on 167th Street and 73rd Avenue, according to police. The bus then went off the road and slammed into a light pole.

 

Emergency responders treated 11 people at the scene, including the bus driver, a matron and six teenage students.

 

Two patients were transported to Long Island Jewish Medical Center where they were treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The other patients were taken to Queens Hospital Center where they were treated for minor injuries.


No charges were filed as of yet.
