Hit-And-Run Rental Car Injures 6 In Queens

The driver of a rental car injured six people after crashing the vehicle into a church van in Queens, officials said.

The driver of the 2016 Ford rental car went through a stop sign and struck the 2000 Dodge van on Shore Avenue and Princeton Street in Jamaica at around 11 p.m., police said. The van subsequently smashed into a parked car from the impact.

David Evans, a youth pastor at the Members of Hope NYC Church, his wife, Shenae, a family member, her 3-year-old and 3-month-old children and a teenager were in the van. They were treated for minor injuries and were able to go home.

Police have reason to believe the car was stolen from a rental car service a few blocks away.

The driver got out of the car and ran. Police are still searching for the driver.
