Kevin Tamasar, 32, of Corona, was killed when his car fell off an elevated roadway on the Whitestone Expressway near Astoria Boulevard at 11:41 a.m., police said.
Tamasar was driving a 2008 Nissan when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a median. However, the impact of the collision caused the car to go over the ramp and fall 25 feet to the ground below. The vehicle was found upside down when emergency responders arrived.
Tamasar was rushed to New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
