James Gregg, 33, was fatally struck by a tractor-trailer as he rode his bike through Park Slope, Brooklyn, police said. Gregg was riding along Sixth Avenue when he collided with the truck traveling alongside him near Sterling Place at around 8 a.m.. He fell under the rear tire.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. Police offered recovered his bicycle, which appeared undamaged, however, no helmet was found, sources said.
The 47-year-old truck driver remained at the scene. According to the New York City Department of Transportation, Sixth Avenue was not an officially designated truck route.
However, no charges or arrests have been made.
