Boy Critically Injured After Bronx Pedestrian Accident

An 11-year-old boy was in critical condition after a car struck him while he was crossing the street in the Bronx, police said. The boy was crossing at the intersection of Grand Concourse and East 165th Street when the Chevy sedan struck him, according to witnesses.

Emergency responders performed CPR on the child at the scene, a witness said. The boy was rushed to Lincoln Hospital in “traumatic arrest.”

The intersection has been flagged by the city’s Vision Zero plan for safety improvements. According to city data, the intersection was the site of two pedestrian fatalities since 2009.
