A 55-year-old woman was fatally struck by a sanitation truck at a crosswalk, police said. The woman, whose name has not been released, was crossing First Avenue and 92nd Street when the truck driver made a left turn from 92nd Street.
She was found conscious and alert when emergency responders arrived. She was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where she died from her injuries, police said.
The driver remained at the scene. No charges or arrests have been made.
