Man Lying In Street Fatally Struck By Hit-And-Run Vehicle

Christopher Costa, 36, was lying in the middle of the road on Madison Avenue and just south of East 115th Street at 9:52 p.m. when a gray SUV struck him and kept driving, police officers said.

It was not immediately clear why he was lying on the road, police said. His brother, Eddie Costa, 39, maintained that he was just crossing the street.

Surveillance footage showed that several cars passed by his body before traffic stopped and someone from the sidewalk came to help him.

Costa was rushed to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

For grieving families, it’s important that a full investigation be conducted. For that, a wise first step is to discuss the matter with a legal professional experienced in car accidents.
