Driver Reportedly Injured After Crashing Into Bronx Home

One person was injured after a car went off the road and crashed into a house in the Bronx, officials said.

The residents of the house, Shirley Lucas, 23, and her 2-year-old daughter, were in their room when they heard the silver Dodge Charger slam into the exterior of their house on Bruckner Boulevard near Thierot Avenue in Soundview.. Lucas lives with her boyfriend who was not at home at the time.

Lucas looked out the window and found the sedan crumpled against her house. After the collision, Lucas quickly left the home with her daughter. The driver was gone by the time she got outside.

A man was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was treated for minor injuries. Witnesses believe the same man was the driver.

She was told not to return to her home until the Department of Buildings and Con Edison completed their investigation of the damage.
