Carjacker Kills Man With His Own Truck In Brooklyn

Phil Dellegrazie, 63, was killed in a carjacking in front of his Greenwood Heights business on Monday morning, officials said.

Dellegrazie saw a man jump into his company truck, which was idling in front of A&D Iron Works. The carjacker drove off, but Dellegrazie got into his own SUV and attempted to chase down the thief. When they both stopped at a stoplight, Dellegrazie got out of his car and tried to confront the carjacker. He managed to get into the truck’s cab, but he was pushed to the ground by the thief.

The carjacker then ran over him and sped off. The thief drove off in the wrong direction on 22nd Street and hit a white Lexus SUV that was trying to follow the stolen truck, witnesses said. The carjacker ran away from the scene, officials said.

Investigators found the stolen truck abandoned a couple of blocks away. After reviewing surveillance footage, they identified the carjacker as Joshua Colon, 24, and arrested him on Monday night on charges of murder, robbery and grand larceny.

For grieving families, it’s important that a full investigation be conducted. For that, a wise first step is to discuss the matter with a legal professional experienced in car accidents.
