Taxi Driver Injures Three People On First Avenue

A cab driver struck and injured two people before crashing into a building during the morning rush hour, according to reports. The incident happened around 577 First Avenue at 8:51 a.m. One of the injured refused medical attention. The second person was being treated for serious injuries, fire officials said.

The three injured people were taken to NYU Langone Medical Center. None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening, according to reports.

According to a witness, the driver hit a cyclist who was riding in the bike lane, swerved into traffic and hit a woman who was on the crosswalk.

It is still unclear why the driver lost control of the car. The NYPD Collision Investigation Squad was not sent to the scene.
