Two Men Killed In L.I. Single-Car Crash Identified

Two men were killed and a third man suffered serious injuries in a one-car crash on Tuesday morning in Fort Salonga, Long Island, officials said.

Leland Acampora, 26, of Hauppague was driving a Hyundai Sonata on Route 25A near Fort Salonga Road and Makamah Road at around 4:30 a.m. when he lost control of his car and crashed into a tree, police stated in a release. Acampora and his back seat passenger, Woody Zalman, 26, of Commack, were pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The front seat passenger, Paul Weingart, 26, of East Northport was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was listed in serious condition.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. The investigation is ongoing.

For grieving families, it’s important that a full investigation be conducted. For that, a wise first step is to discuss the matter with a legal professional experienced in car accidents.
