East Hampton Man Identified In Fatal Bridgehampton Bus Crash

Cesar Marin, 27, of East Hampton, was identified as the driver who died in a Bridgehampton car accident involving a Suffolk County transit bus Friday morning, according to reports.

Marin was driving on Montauk Highway when he lost control of his car “due to icy roadway conditions,” officials said. The 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer went into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with the county bus near Newlight Lane and Windmill Lane.

Marin was pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver, Andrej Jaglowski, 50, of Riverhead was taken to Southampton Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released.

No charges have been made.

Several accidents were reported near the town of Southampton because of road conditions that morning, including an accident that occurred 10 minutes later at the same location. No injuries were reported from that accident.
