Glen Nelson, 48, of Belle Terre, was killed in a crash in his Lamborghini on Sunday, officials said. Nelson was driving his 2008 Lamborghini eastbound on East Broadway in Port Jefferson around 3:40 p.m. when he struck a utility pole on High Street, police said.
Nelson was rushed to St. Charles Hospital in critical condition, but was later pronounced dead. His car was totaled.
Investigators were trying to determine the cause of the crash.
