Brooklyn Woman Killed By MTA Bus in Sheepshead Bay

A female pedestrian was struck and killed by an MTA bus in Sheepshead Bay around 6 p.m., officials said.

Eleonora Shulkin, 62, was lugging groceries across the street when a B36 bus slammed into her as she crossed East 17th Street, her family and police confirmed. The bus was making a left turn from Avenue Z. It struck Shulkin on the crosswalk, witnesses said.

Shulkin was found unconscious and unresponsive at the scene, police said. She was rushed to Coney Island Hospital in traumatic arrest, officials said. She was pronounced dead from her injuries at the hospital.

The bus driver remained at the scene. No charges have been made. Police are still investigating the accident.
