2 Dead After Car Crash With Parked Truck In Queens

Two men died after their car struck a parked truck on the side of a Queens highway early Friday morning, officials said.

Driver Eran Felices, 32, of Ridgewood and his passenger, David Garcia, 36, of East Harlem were driving their black Hyundai Elantra eastbound on the Grand Central Parkway when they struck the parked truck on the right shoulder of the highway near the underpass of 31st Street in Astoria.

“I was going about 50 (mph) and it flew by me,” passerby Angel Rios, 37 told the New York Daily News. “The Hyundai looked like it was doing about 90 flying off the RFK Bridge and it just ran right into the truck.”

Both Felices and Garcia were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck stayed at the scene. No charges have been made.
