A teenager from Central Islip died from a head-on car crash in Central Islip on Monday evening, police said. Anthony Fucci, 17, was driving a 1999 Honda Civic on Lowell Avenue when he lost control of the car and struck a 2008 Toyota Sequoia near Satinwood Street.
Fucci ejected from the car due to the impact of the collision. He was rushed to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
Vladimir Moreno, 33, the driver of the Toyota, and his 4-year-old and 9-year-old sons, were taken to Southside Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Both cars were impounded for safety checks. Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
