Single-Car Collision Leaves 1 Man Dead, 1 Injured In Bronx

Wendell Cheeseboro, 29, of the Bronx was killed in a single-car crash on the Bruckner Expressway in the Bronx on Wednesday morning, officials said. His 26-year-old passenger also injured in the incident.

 

Cheeseboro was driving his 2006 Dodge Charger northbound on the Bruckner Expressway near Hunts Point at 3:20 a.m. when he lost control of his car and struck the median. According to police, he was speeding at the time of the accident.

 

Emergency responders rushed Cheeseboro to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.


His passenger, who has not yet been identified, was transferred to Jacobi Medical Center with a broken right arm and right leg. He was listed in critical condition.

 

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
