An intoxicated Bronx man was killed in a bus accident after he jumped out of a cab to throw up and accidentally walked into the path of a city bus, police said. The man, Luis Inoa, 23, was celebrating a promotion at Nickelodeon before he took the cab home, sources told reporters.
Inoa was picked up by a cab outside of an Inwood bar well past midnight, police said. The driver stopped only two blocks from Inoa’s home at the corner of West 231st Street and Kingsbridge Avenue, police said.
The BX1 bus drove up behind the cab as the passenger got out. The MTA driver steered into the westbound lane to avoid Inoa. When the man bent over to vomit, he then staggered out into the street and was struck by the rear right wheel of the bus, officials said.
Inoa was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both the bus driver and the cab driver remained at the scene and no charges have been made.
