Five people were injured, including two special-needs students, a bus matron, a bus driver, and the driver of a sports utility vehicle, after their mini school bus collided with an SUV in Holtsville on Friday, police said.
The bus was transporting students to Samoset Middle School in Holbrook when the crash happened at the intersection of Portion Road and Leeds Boulevard.
The injured victims were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital. The victims have not yet been identified. An investigation is ongoing.
