Woman Seriously Injured After Car Jumps Curb In Manhattan

A woman, who has not been identified, was seriously injured after a car jumped a curb and pinned her against a light pole on Second Avenue and East 49th Street at 4:30 p.m., according to reports.

A silver Mercedes was driving southbound along Second Avenue when the driver was cut off by another car and went onto the sidewalk, witnesses said.

The woman suffered serious injuries to her legs. A witness who was at the scene said he found her on the floor with her legs pinned under the car. “It was horrible,” he said.

Some doctors at a nearby walk-in clinic rushed to the scene and administered medical aid until paramedics arrived. The woman was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in serious condition, officials said.
