A woman has died after she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a wooded area in Long Island, authorities said. The accident did not involve any other cars.
The crash occurred at 6:25 p.m. on Friday in Huntington, on the north shore of Long Island, according to reports. The woman was driving a 2015 Buick Regal westbound on Woodbury Road when the accident happened.
The victim was identified as Eugenia Kouwenhoven, 80, of Huntington. She was transported by helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police are still investigating.
