Car Crashes Into Upper East Side Starbucks, Injures 2

A Toyota Camry jumped a curb and slammed into the front doors of Starbucks on First Avenue and East 69th Street, officials and witnesses said.

Arthur Knight, a Fresh Direct delivery worker who was making a stop nearby, was able to dodge the vehicle at the last second, according to witnesses.

“He was standing at the corner waiting for the light to change, and out of the corner of his eye he saw the car come straight toward him,” Floyd Boyd, Jr., Knight’s coworker, told reporters. “I’m so thankful he was able to jump out of the way.”

Both Knight and the driver, who has not been identified, were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
