Bus Crash Leaves 31 People Hurt in Lincoln Tunnel Collision

A New Jersey Transit bus and a school’s charter bus collided with each other in the Lincoln Tunnel on Wednesday around 9:35 a.m. 31 people were injured in the accident, but none suffered life-threatening injuries.

 

The NJ Transit bus was traveling from Cresskill to Port Authority Bus Terminal when it rear-ended the private bus inside the Lincoln Tunnel. The NJ transit bus sustained the most damage from the collision.

 

The accident left 31 people injured, most of those injured were passengers of the NJ Transit bus.


The private bus was chartered by the Toronto-based Bedford Park Public School on a sightseeing graduation trip from Toronto to New York. According to the school’s spokeswoman, the passengers on the school’s charter, which included 26 students between 13- and 14-years-old and two staff members, were not injured.
