Elderly Queens Man Struck And Killed Crossing The Street

An elderly Queens man was struck by a car and killed as he was crossing a street.

Nfn Loknauth, 83, had stepped out of his car, and began crossing the street mid-block when he was struck by a 2001 Nissan Xterra at 10:02 p.m. on Monday, according to reports. Loknauth was dragged half a block to 103rd Street and Lefferts Boulevard. He was found pinned underneath the car’s front right tire, according to reports. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.

The 51-year-old male driver, who has not been identified, stayed at the scene. Some reports in the media claim that there might be a connection between the driver and the victim, due to their association with Jamaica Hospital. However, the hospital has not confirmed those connections.

No arrests have been made. Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.

For grieving families, it’s important that a full investigation be conducted. For that, a wise first step is to discuss the matter with a legal professional experienced in car accidents or pedestrian accidents.
