Ambulette Hit In Bus Accident Leaves 1 Dead, 4 Injured

A passenger was killed and four others were injured in a collision between an ambulette and a minibus near the Palisades Center Mall, in West Nyack, on Thursday.

Vincent Careccio, 48, who was being transported in the ambulette, was killed in the accident. The driver of the ambulette, Jean Santilme, 42, was the only other person in the vehicle and was listed in critical condition.

According to reports, the ambulette was in the intersection attempting to make a left turn when it was hit in a T-bone collision by a minibus. The driver of the bus, Marie Morriset, 64, was also in critical condition.

The two bus passengers, a 34-year-old woman and 22-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the accident was still being investigated. No arrests or summonses have been made, according to reports.

For grieving families, it’s important that a full investigation be conducted. For that, a wise first step is to discuss the matter with a legal professional experienced in bus accidents.
