A 22 year-old Brooklyn man was killed in a forklift accident shortly before 6 p.m. yesterday. According to police, Gustavo Tapia was using an electric pallet stacker to push a Yale forklift up a ramp leading to a parking area on the roof of a Midwood supermarket. The forklift was manned by another employee, but somehow it rolled backward and pinned Tapia against a wall.
Tapia, a Brighton Beach resident, was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced DOA. No arrests have been made, but the NYPD says the investigation is ongoing.
