Marisol Martinez, 21, Killed by New York City Bus

Police say an MTA bus struck and killed a 21-year-old woman in Brooklyn early Saturday.  Marisol Martinez was walking on Union Avenue in Williamsburg at around 1:30 a.m. when a bus made a turn and hit her.  Martinez was declared dead after being taken to Woodhull Hospital.

Police say charges haven’t been brought against the bus driver but the accident is still being investigated. Residents who live near the intersection where Martinez was killed say it can be difficult to navigate, with an off-ramp from the BQE merging into several roads.

Our attorneys represent many family members of people struck and killed by motor vehicles on New York City streets.  We have recovered over $100 million for our clients.  We investigate whether the roadways were negligently designed as well as investigate whether bus drivers should be driving for the MTA.
