A Bronx couple is counting their blessings after they survived a terrifying car accident Monday afternoon.
All the snow and ice on the ground helped catapult their vehicle off the Bruckner Expressway and down onto a roadway 50 feet below.
Miraculously, Carlos Broadbelt and Luz Cruz, both 54, survived the heart-stopping fall with injuries. The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. near Brush Avenue in the Unionport section.
The City of New York has a legal obligation to properly remove snow and ice from the roadways. Depending on how long after the last storm ended, the City and the Department of Transportation may be legally responsible for the injuries sustained by these two New Yorkers.
We have several cases against the City of New York and the Department of Transportation for the negligent removal of snow and ice from city streets and sidewalks.
If you or a loved one have been injured in a car accident caused by negligent removal of snow or ice, please contact Duane Morgan of Morgan Levine Dolan today.
