Father of three Abbas Behnam-Bakhsh, 55, Killed on Governors Island

A Staten Island father of 3 was crushed to death by a sewer pipe last week on Governors Island.  Abbas Behnam-Bakhsh, 55, was helping unload the pipe from a delivery truck when the harness used to hoist it off a delivery truck snapped.

Carp Construction, the Staten Island company contracted to do the job, has refused to comment.  This is because as general contractor of the project, they are 100% liable for this worker’s death.

This accident was avoidable and should never have happened.  Had the hoisting apparatus been in working order, these three children would not be fatherless.

The New York Labor Law protects workers injured or killed at construction site accidents.  If you or a loved one has been injured in this type of accident, contact Duane Morgan today.
