Car Crashes into Pedestrians in Midtown, Baby Critically Hurt

A baby inside a stroller was among 6 hurt after being struck by an SUV in Midtown.

Police say the driver of a Chevy SUV lost control of their vehicle at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 46th Street and hit pedestrians in the crosswalk, including an 11-month-old boy inside a stroller.

It’s not clear what caused the driver to lose control, but investigators are looking into whether the rain played a role or if the driver hydroplaned. Police said no criminal charges will be filed in the accident.

This is just another example of the laws not being properly written in New York.  Of the over 200 pedestrian accidents this year, only two criminal prosecutions have been reported.  The attorneys at MLD are trying to bring this issue to public for changes to be made.

We are handling many pedestrian accident cases where the driver losses control of their vehicle and either kills or seriously injures innocent bystanders.  If you or a loved on has been injured in an accident like this, contact Glenn Dolan at 212-785-5115.
