Study Shows One in Three People Killed in Accidents are Pedestrians

Morgan Levine Dolan represents hundreds of people injured in car accidents. The study by the Transportation for America advocacy group found that for every one million New Yorker, 33 died as the result of accidents involving pedestrians.

According to the study no state, including New York, spends more than 5 percent of federal transportation funds on sidewalks, crosswalks, traffic calming, speed humps, multi-use paths, or safety programs for pedestrians or cyclists.  New York will now have more accidents and deaths due to the new rental bicycle program being initiated in the city.

The study said New York State spends just 1 percent of its federal transportation funds to pedestrians. The average city spends just 2.2 percent of their federal transportation funds on projects to improve conditions for walking and bicycling.

As a result of these accidents, the attorneys of Morgan Levine Dolan have been hired to represent people injured in car accidents.  Four out of every ten new cases which come through our door are pedestrians or bicyclists injured on New York City streets.
